We have four types of course tailored to Scouting requirements.

Scout's Group Taster - when you want to try the sport for the first time, this is a good way to discover whether you like it. Taster courses are run from June to September. You'll be given a short period on a land simulator to learn the basics before going on the water. Feel the thrill for the first time...

RYA Start and Youth stage 1 & 2 Windsurfing - you need to do this to get your Watersports Badge via Windsurfing, or if you really want to take windsurfing up seriously. There are two four-hour lessons (on separate days), when you will be taught all the basic aspects of the sport. RYA Fast Forward Intermediate and Youth stage 3 - These follow on from the Start and Youth Windsurfing course, and teach you skills that you can transfer from non-planing to planing conditions with ease. This course sharpens and develops the skills you already have, and introduces the harness in two four-hour sessions on separate days.

RYA Fast Forward Intermediate and Youth stage 4 - now you are getting into the really exciting stuff – planing in footstraps and harness, again in two four-hour sessions on separate (windy) days.
We run these courses seven days a week, and the price includes wet suit, buoyancy aid, board and rig. The Club house includes changing rooms, showers and a café. All courses are book-able weekdays, evenings or weekends. The tuition will be by RYA approved Instructors, who meet the RYA and AALA (R1886/L9220) standards for sailing, instruction, rescue, safety boat and first aid. Ratios: 1 instructor per 6 pupils, 1 safety boat per 12 pupils. All instructors working with children are are CRB checked. The prices below include special reductions for organised groups of Scouts.

After each course, to progress, you will just need to practise, either with your own board or by hiring kit (Our Bronze and Silver hire schemes are the best way) until you are ready to make a decision about the board and rig you really need. Finally, if you need to complete a minimum of 3 months physical activity (increasing as you get higher through the Queen Scout or DOE Award scheme), then you may wish to join our RYA Team 15 or Thursday evening racing for the Summer.
